Football games preview teases season

High school football is just around the corner. We are in the second year of the two-year schedule rotation, meaning schedules will be the same as last year with just the home and road games reversed.

Phil Campbell will open the season, hosting Hackleburg in week zero. Week one, they will travel to Lamar County, then to Elkmont, before returning home to host Colbert County. After facing the Indians, the Bobcats will get an open week before two straight road games, at Carbon Hill and Lauderdale County.

The Bobcats return home week seven to face Mars Hill, then hit the road again to Colbert Heights. Phil Campbell will close out the regular season with two straight home games, hosting Clements and Red Bay.

Red Bay will open the season at Hamilton. The Tigers get an early break with an open week during week one and go on the road again to Lexington. Red Bay will host Sheffield for their first home game in week three, then go on the road again for two straight at Hackleburg and Belmont.

The Tigers will host Tharptown and Falkville in back-to-back home games before going back on the road to Tanner. Red Bay will close out the season hosting Hatton and traveling to Phil Campbell.

Russellville will open the season with two straight home games hosting Grissom and Deshler. The Golden Tigers will go on the road for the first time to Lawrence County before returning home to host West Point. The lights will be off for almost a month as Russellville plays three straight road games at East Limestone, Mars Hill and Brewer before heading into an open week.

The Golden Tigers return home after the open week with two straight home games, hosting Ardmore and Fairview. Russellville will close out the season at Athens.

Tharptown will open the season on the road at Shoals Christian. The Wildcats will host Phillips for their first home game before going back on the road to Tanner. Tharptown will host three straight games with Hatton, Lexington and Cherokee. The Wildcats will go on the road to Red Bay before getting an open week. Tharptown will close out the season with home games, playing Sheffield and Falkville before going on the road to Whitesburg Christian.
