Phil Campbell 10U softball places in tournament

Phil Campbell 10U softball placed fifth in the inaugural Alabama Diamond Youth Softball League State Tournament in Prattville, Ala.

The girls faced tough competition and heat. Their last game was a full game, playing all six innings, and it lasted three and a half hours in 103 heat index. The score was 21-16.  “We went through three cases of water on that last game,” said Coach Hunter Wyatt.

The girls battled in the last game against Dadeville. It was a competitive back and forth for all six innings. After the second inning Wyatt said the heat “started getting to them and you could tell it was getting to them. I used all three of my time-outs to get them cooled and hydrated and we started coming back”. In the end, Dadeville pulled ahead and won 21-16.
