Heggie, Moss
Erica Marie Moss and Allen Wade Heggie were united in marriage on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at First Baptist Church in Meridian. The afternoon ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Raymon Leake.
Parents of the bride are Richard and Cena Moss of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Coffendaffer of Wymore, Neb., and the late Walter Coffendaffer and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moss Sr. of National City, Calif.
Parents of the bridegroom are Wallace and Janet Heggie of Meridian. He is the grandson of Georgia Heggie of Grenada and the late Henry Heggie and Ruby Rhodes of Batesville and the late Allen Lavon "Jack" Rhodes.
Wedding music was presented by Barry Germany, pianist; and Deana Day and Ron McGaugh, vocalists.
Escorted by her brother, Joseph Moss, and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin. The bodice featured a square neckline, hand embellished with various pearls and beads cascading into a princess silhouette.
The floor-length princess style satin-lined skirt was accented with a pearl and bead embroidered border. The back of the dress featured 32 satin covered buttons that connected into a cathedral-length train.
The train featured a satin rose that cascaded softly into a pearl beaded bow. The two-tiered fingertip-length veil was secured beneath a gown of embroidered lace and pearl flowers. She carried a bouquet of white roses with a soft lavender filler.
Ann Gallagher, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Denise Gallagher, cousin of the bride, Melony Dees, Jennifer Heggie, sister of the bridegroom, and Angie Robinson. Flower girls were Breanna and Laryssa McBeath.
Wallace Heggie served his son as best man. Groomsmen were John Kennedy, Tim Garrett, Jay Crampton and Joseph Moss, brother of the bride.
Wedding attendants included Pat Gallagher, Dianne Travis, Helen Follis, Betty Roberts, Marilyn Green, Cristal Glenn, Stephanie Travis and Louise Williamson. Dea Gannaway attended the wedding book.
The reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church following the ceremony.
After a seven-day cruise to the Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Meridian.
McCants, Shields
Shana Lynn Shields of Southaven and John R. McCants III of Oxford were married Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Thad Moore officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Shields of Meridian and Mr. and Mrs. John R. McCants Jr. of Jackson, Ala.
Grandparents of the bride are Gwen Slay and the late Heber Slay and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shields of Meridian. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Chet Noble; Ruby McCants of Jackson and the late John R. McCants Sr.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mrs. Harry Tillery, organist. Scripture readers were Jeremy Shields and Christopher McCants, brothers of the bride and bridegroom.
The bride wore a gown of ivory matte satin and organza featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice was fitted with a dropped waistline and a full organza skirt edged in a satin band. The formal-length gown featured a chapel-length train of organza also edged in a satin band. Her veil of tiered illusion flowed from a pearl and crystal headband.
Matron of honor was Deshea Hasselle Shields of Meridian, sister-in-law of the bride. Other attendants were Alesha Brooke Lee of Meridian, Heather Gaines Rodgers of Winona, Kelly Jean Temple of Ridgeland and Jessica Hatcher Tillman of Kailua, Hawaii.
Kristin Taylor Thomas, niece of the bride, and Caroline Rebekah Noble, cousin of the bridegroom, were flower girls.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Jeremy Wade Shields of Meridian, brother of the bride, Christopher Coleman McCants of Birmingham, Ala., brother of the bridegroom, Chad Dee Hughley of Oxford and Ashley David Wiggins of Auburn, Ala.
Program attendants were Jennifer Margaret DeCoudres and Kelli LaNae Mathis. Bird seed bags were distributed to guests by the flower girls.
A reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple resides in Mobile, Ala.
Webb, Gross
Jennifer Gross and Josh Webb, both of Meridian, were married Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Thad Moore officiating.
Parents of the couple are David Gross, Charles and Idell McGuirt, Wyatt and Paula Webb, and Dwayne and Cathy Fisher, all of Meridian.
Grandparent of the bride is Mary Love of Meridian. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Hilda Sanford and Wendall Webb, both of Meridian.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Mary Evans, pianist; and Jammy Williams, vocalist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Angel Gross of Meridian. Other attendants were Pamela Hemrick and Nicole Mosley, both of Meridian. Margaret Ann Sanford of Meridian was flower girl.

After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Meridian.
