Civic Center Asked for City
A proposal for building a new civic center in Russellville was brought before City Council Monday night by Russellville Jaycees.
The Council also heard a proposal from Arthur Shores, Russellville taxi owner, in regard to obtaining a taxicab franchise in the city providing all present cab firms could be brought under one management.
The franchise was read and action passed until the next meeting.
Franklin 4-H'ers Salute Progress
Alabama's 4-H Club project program keeps peace with the times.
According to Assistant County Agent Robert K. Leopard, who has charge of boys' 4-H Clubs in Franklin County, the list of approved 4-H projects is larger now than ever before. All projects, he said, are in keeping with the growing complexities of farming and farm living.
Leopard made the statement in connection with the Alabama celebration of National 4-H Club Week, March 3-11.
