Frances Pickett Grant, 86, of
Russellville, Ala. passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at Shoals Hospital.
Mrs. Grant was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and member of First Baptist Church in Russellville.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30, at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Barry Holcomb and Clint Busler officiating. Burial followed in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Grant, of Russellville; son Howard Lee Grant, of Guntersville; sisters, Sarah Thompson, Peggy Olive, both of Russellville, Pat Waldrop, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Hank Thompson, Sammy Taylor, Freed Baker, Larry Greenhill, William Darty and Arron Burleson.
Honorary bearers were Calvin Palmer, Floyd Tirey, Tommy Malone, Aubrey Harris, Ronald Holbrook, Larry McGee and Homer Grissom.
She was preceded in death by parents, Calvin and Ruby Horton Pickett; daughter, Rita Jane Grant.
Flowers accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Linda Lou Balenger

Linda Lou Balenger, 67, of Spruce Pine, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at Russellville Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at Tharptown Friendship Holiness Church with Sister Pearl Shelton and Bro. Jim Poss officiating.
On October 28 at 11:30 a.m. the bells of heaven began to ring. The angel choir began to sing and a double rainbow appeared in the sky as Linda Lou Balenger was carried into heaven on angel's wings. Waiting there to celebrate her homecoming were her parents, William and Ethel Jenkins Rowlands; brother, William Rowlands, Jr.; and daughter, Tanya Lynn Morlan.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Morlan, Sr. and wife, Judith; grandchildren, Alisha Treadway and husband, Curtis, Michael Lee Morlan, Jr., Kimberly LeeAnn Morlan; great-grandchildren, Eric Treadway and Tarha Treadway; sisters, Beverly Novek, and husband, Joe, Shirley Kholer, Donna Louis, Nancy Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was loved deeply by her family and friends and will be missed by all.
Jimmy Fleming

Jimmy Ray Fleming, 69, of Russellville, died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Spry Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Matt Cooper and Pastor DeWayne Crumley officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Memory Gardens.
Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents, James Roy and Mattie Lou Fleming; father-in-law, Jodie N. Willis.
He is survived by wife, Joyce Fleming; children, Julia (Harry) Sullivan, Chris (Brandi) Fleming; grandchildren, Daniel Sullivan, Katye Sullivan, Anna Sullivan, Cainen Fleming, Drew Willis; brother, Harold (Barbara) Fleming; mother-in-law, Katherine Willis; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Rose Willis; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Jason Willis, Jody Willis, Jerry Hovater, Gary Bolton, Pat Murray, Daryll Fleming, Matthew Bolton, and Zachary Bolton. Honorary pallbearers will include the North Russellville Baptist Church #1 Men's Sunday School Cass, Deacson and Kenny Clark.
Mr. Fleming worked for Metal Exchange Corp for the past 20 years.
The family would like to thank the North Russellville Baptist Church family; the UAB Spain Wallace Building ninth floor doctors, nurses, staff and Ronald Sterling, hospital chaplain. Words cannot express the thanks for the love and care shown towards our family.
