John Harold Hyde, 71, a lifelong resident of Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Hyde served his country in the U.S. Navy.

The visitation was Thursday, Mar. 6, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral was Friday, Mar. 7, 2014 at Spry. Officiating was Bro. James McCullar. Also speaking was his grandson, Steven Wisdom. The burial was at Hyde Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Stackhouse and husband, Mark, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Robert “Bobby” Wesley Hyde, of Russellville; grandchildren, Alicia Cantrell, Christina Crews, William Harold and Nina Wisdom, Steven and Stephanie Wisdom, Chasity and Tom Fortune, McKinnley Blake Hyde; great-grandchildren, Tabatha Gionet, Grant Wisdom, Julianna Cantrell, Caleb Crews, Ava Wisdom, Lela Wisdom, Bryant Wisdom, Mia Wisdom, Tindley Wisdom; brother, Robert “Bobby” and Diane Hyde; cousin, Roger “Chip” and Brenda Encheff; three nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” J. Hyde; daughter, Lesley Ann Hyde Foster; parents, Wallace H. and Clara Hyde; and brother, Wayne Wallace Hyde.

The pallbearers were grandsons, William Harold Wisdom, Steven Ray Wisdom, McKinnley Blake Hyde; nephew, Seth Hyde; second cousin, Brent Encheff, and family friend, Michael Allen. The honorary pallbearers were Roger D. Encheff and Johnny Earl Wisdom.

The family would like to extend a special thanks for the wonderful, loving and compassionate care of our daddy to Dr. J. Vacik, Dr. J. Conner, Keller Home Health Services team and a special mention to Tracy; Respi-Care of Russellville, Cynthia, Debra, Shirley, and Pam of Hospice of the Shoals.
