RB girls get holiday wins

Destiny McCollister scored 17 points to lead the Red Bay Tigers to a 41-26 win over the Carbon Hill Bulldogs.

Red Bay raced out to an 11-5 first quarter lead and extended that lead to 20-11 at halftime. The Tigers led 31-19 at the end of the third quarter.

Macy Faulkner followed McCollister with 10 points. Lila Blackburn had six points, Emma McCollister five points, Madeline Ledbetter two points and Mackenzie Hester one point.

Red Bay 45, Haleyville 34

Destiny McCollister also scored 13 points to lead Red Bay to a 45-34 win over the Haleyville Lions.

Haleyville held a 23-17 lead at halftime. Red Bay outscored Haleyville 12-4 in the third quarter to take a 29-27 lead into the fourth quarter. The Tigers outscored the Lions 16-7 in the fourth quarter to hang on to the lead and the win.

Lila Blackburn scored nine points, Emma McCollister had eight points, Faulkner six points, Jaycee Vinson four points, Madisyn Hester three points and Ledbetter two points.
