Don’t miss these upcoming community events – including a few that did not make it into this week’s print version of the Franklin County Times:

Catch the Fun at RPL
Oct. 26
Russellville Public Library will host Catch the Fun with pumpkin suncatcher painting Oct. 26. The event will be held from 3:30-5 p.m., for ages 5-12 years old. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required. There will also be a photo table, movie and snacks, including a popcorn machine.  

Phil Campbell Homecoming Parade
Oct. 26
Phil Campbell will have its Homecoming Parade Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. Parade line-up starts at 5 p.m. A bonfire will follow the parade. Come on out to cheer on the Bobcats. 

A Rockstar’s Spooktacular
Oct. 26
RMS Performing Arts students proudly present the 16th annual Spooktacular – this year, A Rockstar’s Spooktacular. The show will be Oct. 26 at the RCS Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Students are directed by Aaron Freeman. 

Russellville Hospital Trunk or Treat
Oct. 27
Russellville Hospital will host a Trunk or Treat event Oct. 27 from 3-5 p.m. The event will be located in the front and side parking lot of the hospital. This is a drive-through event.   

Franklin County Latino Heritage Festival
Oct. 28
The Franklin County Latino Heritage Festival will be held Oct. 28 in downtown Russellville. It will feature family-friendly activities, including live entertainment, dancing, food trucks, vendors, children’s activities, a soccer match, vintage car show and closing parade. The festival is seeking donors and sponsors. For more information, contact Guillermo Vasquez at 256-436-2714.

Movie Night in the Park
Oct. 28
Phil Campbell Parks and Recreation will host Movie Night in the Park with a Halloween film for the community to enjoy. Movie-goers should bring their own chair or blanket. Concessions will be available for sale. The movie will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is free.  

Fall Festival
Oct. 29
Siloam Baptist Church invites everyone to a fall festival Oct. 29 from 5-8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Activities will include trunk or treat, face painting, games and refreshments. The church is located at 1657 Highway 60 in Russellville. 

Pop-In at the Methodist Church
Oct. 31
First United Methodist Church of Russellville will host a Halloween Pop-In event from 6-8:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Community members are invited to enter the church via Washington Avenue for candy, snacks, fun and games. Attendees should exit via Madison Street to ensure a safe and easy flow of traffic for the evening.  

Vina Trunk or Treat
Oct. 31
The Town of Vina will host Trunk or Treat on Halloween night from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Vina Community Center Parking Lot. Everyone is invited to set up a trunk to join the fun. Call 256-356-4996 for more information. 

Phil Campbell Halloween
Oct. 31
Candy will be available to trick-or-treaters beginning at 5 p.m. in the parking lot by city hall in downtown Phil Campbell.

Trunk-a-Treat
Oct. 31
Mountain View Baptist Church, located at 2110 Highway 81 in Phil Campbell, invites all to its Trunk-a-Treat Oct. 31 from 6-7 p.m. Attendees are asked to please wear non-scary costumes. In case of rain the event will move inside The Children’s Activity Room.

State of the Schools
Nov. 2
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host State of the Schools Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Phil Campbell High School gymnasium. Attendees will hear reports from FCS Superintendent Greg Hamilton, RCS Superintendent Dr. Heath Grimes and NWSCC president Dr. Jeff Goodwin.  

Free Grief Seminar, “Help for the Hurting”
Nov. 3-5
North Highlands church of Christ will host “Help for the Hurting – A Grief Seminar” in multiple sessions Nov. 3-5. Don Williams of Florence will be the presenter. Sessions Nov. 3 will be at 6:30 p.m., 13 Things I Wish I Could Tell Others About My Grief, and 7:25 p.m., Understanding the Differences Between Sudden and Anticipated Loss. Nov. 4 will begin at 8 a.m. with registration and continental breakfast, followed by sessions at 8:30 a.m., What Do You Know About Grief and Loss?, 9:25 a.m., The Emotions of Grief and Loss, 10:20 a.m., What Does My “Grief Room” Look Like? and 11:10 a.m., How Does One Make It Through the Grief Journey. Nov. 5 sessions will start at 9:30 a.m. with The Bible and Grief, followed with a split session at 10:35 a.m. – What Men Need to Know About Women and Grief and What Women Need to Know About Men and Grief. Nov. 5 will finish at 6 p.m., What Can This Congregation Do to Help Others in Grief? All sessions are free and open to the community. 

Missions Fundraiser
Nov. 3-4
Russellville First Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale to raise money for missions Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. til 5 p.m. and Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. til 11 a.m. There will be furniture, baked goods, kitchen items, household goods, jewelry, books and more. It will be held at the church, 311 N. Jackson Ave., Russellville.

Phil Campbell Arts and Historical Society Christmas Bazaar
Nov. 4
The Phil Campbell Arts and Historical Society will hold its Christmas Bazaar Nov. 4. Vendor applications are now available at Phil Campbell City Hall.
