Hank and Sara Moreau have fond memories of their educational pursuits at East Central Community College.
So fond, in fact, that the 1959 graduates Tuesday announced plans to contribute $150,000 to ECCC over a 30-year period.
Dr. Phil A. Sutphin, ECCC president, expressed appreciation to the couple for the contribution.
After living all over the U.S. during Hank's years as an Army Chaplin, the couple moved back to Decatur in 1998. He retired a few years ago but is still active as an interim pastor.
Hank enrolled in a few classes at ECCC when the couple first returned to Decatur. He took a theater class and had a part in the production, "Camelot." Sara also sang in the chorus for the production.
Sara is originally from Hickory, and Hank is from Rhode Island. They decided to move to Decatur after buying a home in Biloxi that did not feel like home to the couple.
