Jessica Michelle Sistrunk and Aubrey Brooks Gist were united in marriage on Saturday, July 21, 2001, at Gulf Shores Wedding Chapel in Gulf Shores, Ala., with the Rev. T. Frank Matthews officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Kim Benton of Hickory and Jamie and Nelda Sistrunk of Collinsville. She is the granddaughter of Jewell Sistrunk of Meridian and the late James F. Sistrunk and Glenn and JoAnne Miller of Hickory.
The bridegroom is the son of John and Lynda Gist of Philadelphia. He is the grandson of John and Norma Gist of Meridian and the late George and Roma Stewart of Philadelphia.
Nuptial music was provided by Sue Carter, organist.
Escorted by her brother, Daniel Matthew Sistrunk, the bride was given in marriage by her parents. She carried a bouquet of miniature roses and baby's breath.
Natalie Courvelle and Jessica Courvelle of Collinsville attended their sister as bridesmaids.
Groomsmen were Scott Gist of Meridian, cousin of the bridegroom, and Eric Gist of Philadelphia, brother of the bridegroom. Caleb Courvelle, brother of the bride, served as usher.
Following the ceremony, the bride's father hosted a dinner for family and guests.
After a honeymoon in Orange Beach, Ala., the couple resides in Decatur.
