South holds huge size advantage over North

CLINTON Judging by the looks of the teams, and comments from coaches and players, the North All-Stars may be at a decided disadvantage for tonight's Mississippi Private School Association All-Star game.
Kick-off for the North-South contest is set for 6 p.m. at Robinson-Hale Stadium here at Mississippi College.
Wayne Academy head coach Tom Boszor is serving as the offensive co-ordinator for the North All-Stars. Bayou Academy's Mike McClendon is the head coach for the North.
Boszor, though, was quick to point out a problem with the roster.
Winston Academy coach Steve Kelly is handling the offensive and defensive line and says the North could be hurt by its lack of size.
One of those who will be counted on to stop the South will be Heidelberg Academy's Joe Connor. He is one of the biggest players in the game at 6-foot-3 and 315 pounds.
Moore will play for the South All-Stars. He will line up at split end. He says he likes his team's chances.
Two of the players who Moore said have drawn the most attention for the South are linemen Adam Scott Wilson of Oak Forest and Charles Kitchen of Tensas Academy. Wilson is 6-2, 250 while Kitchen is 6-4, 298. Both are considered NCAA Division I prospects.
One of the quarterbacks for the North is Magnolia Heights' Lee Powell who tossed five touchdown passes in the Chiefs' 38-6 romp past Oak Forest for the AA title.
Powell, however, may have to get a number for his turn as a North quarterback.
The North will probably open with an option-based offense led by North Delta School quarterback Chad McMahan. Bayou's Blake Whatley, who played for McClendon, will get some time. Powell may be the fourth quarterback in the rotation.
Also playing in the game from The Meridian Star coverage area will be Sylva-Bay's Buddy Welborn, Leake Academy's Luke Culpepper, Heidelberg's Heath Ainsworth and Winston's Jason Fulcher and Scott Peterson.
Welborn is slated to play defensive end for the North while Ainsworth will be a running back. Fulcher will start at middle linebacker while Peterson will be be at either fullback or tight end.
Culpepper will play strong safety for the South.
