REPAIRING A MERIDIAN LANDMARK – Jimmy Duke, on the roof, helps Paul Souligny scale the Threefoot Building on 22nd Avenue in downtown Meridian on Monday.
By Staff
Duke, owner of Duke's Construction Co., was hired by Threefoot owner Howard Robbins to repair decorative tile and brick. Lightning and extensive rain have caused cracks in the mortar around the 14th floor that need to be resealed.
A protective barrier has been placed along the front of the building to protect pedestrians. Duke said most of the work is being done on the weekend because of downtown traffic. He said the brick-repairing process is slow and tedious, and could not predict when it will be completed.
