Family, friends honor Fitzgerald

Friends remember
Fitzgerald was buried a few yards from the church in an adjacent cemetery. Family and friends, most of whom carried umbrellas, followed and stood near a maroon tent that covered the gravesite.
Fitzgerald's family, including Tammie, his wife, and Casey, his daughter, strolled through freshly cut damp grass to their seats under the tent.
After the graveside service, family and friends mingled with each other, offering hugs and trying to make sense of the Tuesday shootings. Don Lloyd remembered Fitzgerald as a friend to all.
Another friend, former high school classmate Randy Jordan of Enterprise, called Fitzgerald "a character, the most easy-going guy you ever met."
