St. Paul's Chamber Series opens season on Thursday

St. Paul's Chamber Series opens its season with a concert featuring a recital of music for organ and brass instruments.
Organist David A. Benson along with trumpeters Brad Snow and Jake Walburn, will join French horn musician Barbi Van Horn and trombonist Matt Laube. Benson is the current organist and choirmaster at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
The concert is free and open to the public. It will be Thursday at 12:05 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in downtown Meridian. Light refreshments will be served following the concert.
The concert will feature two pieces for the organ alone, "Carillon de Westminster" and "Aria."
One selection "Mississippi Suite" was composed by Benson and is being premiered at the concert. Each movement of the selection has a quotation attached to it two by Eudora Welty and one by Langston Hughes.
