SEMMES, Ala. Graveside services for Billy Ray Litchfield, Sr. were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens. Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Litchfield, 72, of Semmes died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at his residence. He was a native of Martin, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Booker Litchfield; two daughters, Pattie Litchfield and Gloria Jan Litchfield, all of Semmes; two sons, Joseph Litchfield, of Semmes, and Billy Litchfield, of Atlanta; two sisters, Vivian Snowden and Mae Powell, both of Martin, Miss.; one brother, Barney Litchfield, of Saraland; one grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services for Charles Albert Swancey will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leland Goodman and Richard Cothran officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Swancey, 81, of Enterprise died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Shriners Provost Guard in lew.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Swancey, of Enterprise; two daughters, Carol Polk, of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Terri Beddingfield, of Meridian; three sons, Danny Swancey, of Enterprise, Charles Wayne Swancy, of Albertrille, Ala., and Tommy Swancey, of Section, Ala.; two step-sons, Craig Prince, of Quitman, and Kirk Prince, of Meridian; two step-daughters, Stacey Riley, of Meridian, and Tondra Swain, of Enterprise; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Phillips, Kirk Prince, Lamar Moore, Ray Prather, R.C. Gooden and Brett Swain. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shriners and Provost Guard.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for James Chester White will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Melvin Boles, Michael Boles and Travis McManus officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. White, 92, of Meridian died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He served in Europe during World War II. He was a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Meridian and he most recently attended Evangel Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Mae White, of Meridian; a daughter, Bonnie J. Anderson, of Loudon, Tenn.; a son, Jack R. Brock and his wife, Peggy, of Ocean Springs; two grandchildren, Becky Clevenger and her husband, Robbie, of Loudon, Tenn., and Rodney D. Brock, of Ocean Springs; one great-grandchild, Cody Clevenger, of Loudon, Tenn.; a sister, Inez Chambers and her husband, Joe, of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
QUITMAN Services for Garnet R. Forry will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Forry, 77, of Quitman, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Guardian Angel Hospice.
Survivors include a son, Daniel Forry, of Milan, Tenn.; a daughter, Cassy Schmidt, of Quitman; a sister, Catherine Probst, of Vero Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

DEKALB Graveside services for Allene Persons Brooks Bruton will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rush Cemetery in Kemper County with Rev. R.L. "Dockie" Hunnicutt officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bruton, 99, formerly of Wahalak, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Lynnwood Nursing Home in Mobile, Ala.
Survivors include four daughters, Ella Nelson and Doris Denney, both of Mobile, Ala., Evelyn Martin and her husband, Otis, of Scooba, and Arlene Haskins and her husband, Jim, of Starkville; a son, Allen Bruton and his wife Jeffrie, of Southhaven; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt Bruton; and children, Sybil Sembrowich, Ralph Brooks, Huey P. Brooks and an infant son.
Visitation will be held Monday from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Otis Burke will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hayes Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Barry Fulton and Mike Truhett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Newton County.
Mr. Burke, 81, of Little Rock died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He attended First Pentecostal Church of House. He was born in Newton County and lived there most of his life.
Survivors include two daughters, Janiece Calvert and her husband, Jerry, of Meridian, and Carolyn Goss and her husband, Douglas, of Little Rock; a son, Jerry Burke and his wife, Tami, of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Tammy Graham, Sonja Baucum, Teresa Edwards, April Edwards and Pat Burke; great-grandchildren, Tyler Graham, Trevor Graham, Isaiah Edwards, Anna Baucum and Jaxon Edwards; sisters, Myrnice Howard, of Little Rock, and Ellen Scarbrough, of Houston; a brother, Olen E. Burke, of Little Rock; and a special friend, Mary Parks.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Nancy Vedrenne will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Judd officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Vedrenne, 54, of Meridian died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Meridian Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin Vedrenne; two children, John Vedrenne and Amber Vedrenne, all of Meridian; her mother, Dorothy Tuccio, of Natchez; a sister, Eileen Wickham and her husband, Lonnie, of Natchez; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam John Tuccio.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
