Sept. 19 RMS hosted a volleyball tournament. The tournament featured Florence, Lawrence County, West Morgan, Haleyville and Deshler.

RMS eighth grade played its first match against Haleyville, with the set scores of 25-19 to win set one, 23-25 in set two and 16-14 in set three to lose that match. In their second match the team played against West Morgan, winning the first set 20-25 but losing set two 25-13, and set three 15-10, putting them at a loss for that match. The third match RMS eighth grade lost the first set 17-25, but came back the second set with a score of 25-27 and won the match with the third set score of 3-15. They then won the fourth match with victories in set one of 24-26 and in set two of 23-25, to enter them into the championship round.

RMS eighth grade played Lawrence County in the championship. The team started off the first set with the strides of victory, but Lawrence County came back to win set one with a score of 26-28. RMS eighth grade then continued on to lose set two 25-22. The match was close and was full back and forth score. The anticipation ran high. Lawrence County came out on top; RMS eighth grade lost the match and placed second in the tournament.

RMS seventh grade played its first match against Florence. The first set the team lost 25-19; they came back in set two with a victory score of 22-25 but lost the third set 15-7, losing the first match of the tournament. The team played its second match against Lawrence County but lost both sets with the scores of 25-9 and 25-12, losing the match. The third match was against West Morgan. RMS jumped into victory with the set scores of 22-25 and 22-25, winning the match. Then the team continued on to play Deshler, winning match with the scores of 27-29 and 20-25.

RMS seventh grade prevailed to the championship round, playing against Lawrence County. However, the team lost the match with set scores of 25-9 and 25-10. The RMS seventh grade placed second in the tournament.
