An undercover operation by Tri-County Narcotics Task Force agents has resulted in a number of drug-related arrests in Philadelphia.
Agent Mark Gregory said Tuesday the arrests are a culmination of several months of undercover operations in the Philadelphia area. The Philadelphia Police Department and the Neshoba County Sheriff's Department assisted in making the arrests, he said.
Most of the arrests were for street-level offenses where crack cocaine was involved.
Charged are Dwight Moncrief, Steve Daniels, Demetrius Gary, Mack Coleman Jr., Stanley Hunter, Kenny Kelly, Marquis Davis, Gwendy Brown, Frankie Leech and Christopher Spencer, all of Philadelphia.
Two juveniles were also arrested during the operation. Another six are expected to be served with warrants as a result of undercover drug buys, he said.
All of the defendants remained in custody Tuesday at the Neshoba County Jail.
Gregory said Philadelphia is plagued by the drug, which is relatively inexpensive and extremely available.
The operation included eight agents from the Tri-County office, which is seated in Starkville.
