Lake looking to avenge early-season loss to Mize
By By Richard Dark/The Meridian Star
The Lake Hornets have a shot to knock off a team that punished them in the regular season. The Mize Bulldogs thumped Lake 34-0 in Mize earlier in the season.
Unfortunately, for Steve Nelson's bunch, they have to go back to Mize after the Hornets blew away Bogue Chitto last week.
Nelson is stressing to his players the possibility that the Bulldogs aren't taking his team very seriously.
The players Nelson was missing the last time Lake (7-4) played the Bulldogs (9-2) will be back in uniform and ready to go.
Nelson also said he thought the community would travel well to the away playoff game.
In order to ensure the epidemic around Lake continues to grow, the Hornets will have to depend on fullback Leroy Anderson and quarterback Jake Nester. Nester ran the ball 12 times last week for a total of 230 yards and threw a 27-yard touchdown pass.
