P.V. “Pug” Orrick

P.V. “Pug” Orrick, 82, passed away Feb. 15 at his residence. He was born in Marion County and was retired from American Motors. He was a member of Vina First Baptist Church and a member of United Autoworkers. He enjoyed laughing, spending time with friends and babysitting his great-grandchildren.

Services were held Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Steve Ledbetter and Bro. Ray Kirk officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, Miss.

Survivors are one sister, Nadine Hopkins, Red Bay; six grandchildren, Dawn Rogers and husband Shaun, Brad Childers, Kirk Childers, Katy McGee, Amber Bohannon and husband Nathan and Kayla Gunnels and husband Brian; great-grandchildren, Kenzlee Bohannon, Gadzden Bohannon, Paxton Gunnels, Pyper Gunnels, Kailee Rogers, Konnor Rogers and several other great-grandchildren; three step-children; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Childers Orrick; his parents, Albb Orrick and Maudie Emerson Orrick; a brother, P.A. Orrick; a step-son and a grandson.

Pallbearers were Nathan Bohannon, Michael Moomaw, L.V. Russell, Danny Wooten, Doug Sharp, Hunter Kennedy, Adam Ozbirn and Justin Epperson. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Emerson, Ray Petty, Jimmy Shewbart, Shaun Rogers and Brian Gunnels.

Visitation was Feb. 17, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
