Daphine Smith Copeland

Daphine Smith Copeland, age 73, Russellville, passed away on July 08 at her residence.

 

Daphine was a member of Quinn Memorial Church of Christ. She loved her children and grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a servant’s heart and had volunteered for years at Russellville, Phil Campbell, and East Franklin schools, and the last few years had volunteered at Russellville Library and the Senior Citizens Building. She was always ready to help anyone and was an avid Alabama Fan, Roll Tide.

 

The visitation will be 1-4 p.m., July 10 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Lonnie Oldag. Burial will be at Allen McWright Cemetery in Spruce Pine.

 

She was preceded in death by husband of 51 years, Price Millard Copeland; her parents, Lester & Minnie Dora (Seal) Smith; and brother, Earl Smith.

The pallbearers will be Nathan McCalpin, Tim McCalpin, Tony McCalpin, Larry Gist, David Grissom, Carl Pierce, Dwyatt Gilbert, and Dick Smith.  The honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Gilbert and Doug Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, James Millard “Jamie” Copeland and wife, Ann, Dora Lynn Johnson, William Hudson Copeland and wife, Sandra; grandchildren, Ashley Cummins and husband, James, Jon Copeland and wife, Amy, McKinley Copeland, Britney Anne Stancil Davis and husband, Wayne, Benjamin John Stancil, Lauren Elizabeth Copeland; great-grandchildren, Gavin Cummins, Mason Cummins, Madilyn Copeland, Adam Copeland, and a new baby boy soon to arrive; sisters, Martha Wheeler and husband, Nolan, Janice Riner and husband, Douglas; sister-in-law, Marjorie Smith; and several nieces & nephews.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to their church family, friends, and neighbors, as well as the nurses and staff of ECM Hospital for your love and care during this time.
