Mary Lou Cleveland Brock, age 82, of Birmingham passed away Aug. 15. She was raised on the farm in Chigger Hill, Ala., and was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. She attended Birmingham Business College and began her first job with the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. She went on to work with ABC Products and Drummond Coal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtice Cleveland, and her son, William Jeffrey Brock. She is survived by her daughter, Janis Lowery; her grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Sharon and Kendra; three great grandchildren, Brittany, Abbie and Ashley; her sister, Onease and husband Bobby Cockrum, of Adamsville; her brothers, Albert C. Cleveland of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Elmer B. and wife Brenda Cleveland, of Adamsville; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Aug. 18 at noon at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
