New car washes open in Russellville, Phil Campbell

East Franklin’s JoRudi Trapp likes to stay busy, and he had a goal of providing what he sees as a needed service in Russellville and Phil Campbell. That’s why he has opened a new car wash in each of these cities.

JoBabies Car Wash, on Highway 43 in Russellville, opened last week, and the Phil Campbell location will open late this week or first of next week, next to the post office.

Trapp, who already operates a touchless automatic wash and a self-serve wash in Russellville, said the focus in this new location on Highway 43 will be speedy service.

“If you see five people in line, don’t think about turning away. It’s probably only going to take you about five or six minutes to get back on the road,” Trapp said. The express wash includes free vacuum with wash, and Trapp plans to add a floor mat cleaner, as well. The Phil Campbell wash will be touchless and will also offer free vacuums.

“Everything you can get in Birmingham, Huntsville, Atlanta – you’ll be able to get it here,” Trapp said. “Our goal is to keep improving, and hopefully people respond to it.”

Trapp said JoBabies – so called based on Trapp’s great-grandmother’s nickname for him.

2017 begins Trapp’s fifth year in the car wash business, which is one of the business endeavors that keeps him busy, along with deer processing, rental properties and a fresh produce stand. He and wife Betsy are members of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.
