Wayne Winsted

Wayne Winsted, 78, of Russellville passed away June 8 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Visitation will be held June 11 at Spry Memorial Chapel from noon to 2 p.m. with the funeral afterward at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Bro. DeWayne Crumley. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Wayne was born June 15, 1939, in Alabama to the Rev. Johnnie and Linnie Winsted.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Chester Winsted.

Mr. Winsted is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Colena Newell Winsted; his daughter, Cynthia Winsted Pounders (Paul); his son, Alan Winsted (Debra); grandchildren, Amanda DiTrocchio (Matt), Kelly Murray (Dustin), Hunter Winsted, Levi Winsted, Aymee-Beth Britton and AshLee Britton; great-grandchildren, Hayden DiTrocchio and Brock DiTrocchio; brothers, Autry Winsted and Larry Winsted; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers include Hunter Winsted, Levi Winsted, AshLee Britton, Dustin Murray, Nathan Hulsey and Brandon King.

He worked for Robbins Tire for 18 years and then for the Alabama Forestry Commission for 31 years. Wayne enjoyed spending most of his days on his cattle farm, coon and deer hunting, shooting guns and gardening, but his favorite way to spend his time was with his family and friends.
