NW-SCC names scholarship winners

The following students are among Northwest-Shoals Community College scholarship winners.

  • Michael Gage Roberson, of Spruce Pine, received a Faculty and Staff scholarship. A 2017 graduate of Phil Campbell High School, Roberson was a member of National Honor Society. He is the son of Glen and Amy Roberson. While at NW-SCC, he will pursue an associate’s degree in science.
  • Madison Caroline Hargett, of Russellville, received an Orben & Mattie Lou Gist Memorial Foundation A 2018 graduate of Russellville High School, Hargett was a member of National Honor Society; varsity cheer; basketball; SASS; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; FBLA; Educators Rising; Key Club; Christian Students United; Spanish Club; and Science Club. She is the daughter of Chris and Paige Hargett. While at NW-SCC, she will pursue a degree in early childhood education.
  • Abby Jones, of Russellville, received a Franklin County Retirees Scholarship. A 2017 graduate of Belgreen High School, Jones is a sophmore at NW-SCC. In high school she was a member of HOSA, History Club, senior class representative and Student Council. She is the daughter of Karen Jones and Michael Jones and the granddaughter of Tery B. and Sharline Dempsey and Buddy and Linda Jones. While at NW-SCC, she will pursue a degree in special education.
  • Colton Shea Madden, of Russellville, received an Orben & Mattie Lou Gist Memorial Foundation A 2018 graduate of Russellville High School, Madden was a member of National Honor Society, baseball, Christian Students United, FBLA and Spanish Club. He is the son of Shea and Angelique Madden. While at NW-SCC, he will pursue a degree in business or physical therapy.
  • Kayla Paige Hamilton, of Phil Campbell, received the Rosa Glasgow Ward Memorial Scholarship. A 2018 graduate of Phil Campbell High School, Hamilton was a member of FCCLA, FBLA, SADD, JAG, Junior Civitan, History Club and Access Club. She is the daughter of Deborah Williams and the late Scott Hamilton. While at NW-SCC, she will pursue a degree in occupational therapy assisting.
