RB Founders Fest pageant approaches

The time is coming soon for Red Bay’s annual Founders Fest. The festival is scheduled for Sept. 15, but before that, the Founders Fest Pageant will determine the Queen Sept. 9.

The pageant will start at 2 p.m. at Red Bay High School Auditorium.

Entry fee is $45, with a $5 sibling discount.

Boys age divisions are 0-2 and 3-5, depending on level of interest.

Girls age divisions are 0-11 months, 12-23 months, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-19. Age groups are subject to being split or combined depending on the number of entries.

There will be a queen and three alternates in each age group. Kings and Queens will receive crowns, custom sashes and Founders Fest T-shirts and will be featured at the festival.

Contestants in the 0-11 months and 12-23 months age groups may wear Sunday dresses or pageant dresses. Contestants ages 2 and older must wear pageant dresses. For boy contestants, attire is Sunday best.

To enter the optional Most Photogenic Contest, cost is an additional $5, and the photo must be 8×10 or smaller, without a frame, brought the day of the pageant.

Admission will be $5 at the door. Contestants and children younger than 10 get in free.
