Extension wins Farm City Exhibit
At the recent North Alabama State Fair in Muscle Shoals, the Franklin County Extension won first place for its Farm City exhibit. This year’s theme was “200 Years of Alabama Agriculture.”
“It’s important to learn the history of our agriculture,” Extension Director Katernia Cole-Coffey said. The exhibit had examples of old methods of farming and new methods of farming, important figures in Alabama agriculture and the infamous boll weevils. Cole-Coffey and Sonia Gamble with the Extension office created the exhibit that beat Colbert and Lauderdale counties’ exhibits.
