Muriel S. Crandall

Muriel S. Crandall of Belmont, Miss., died Feb. 6 after a brief illness. Muriel, formerly of Spruce Pine, was a housewife and a dairy farmer’s wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Victor “Vic” Crandall; her parents, Norman A. and Lula McKinney Smith; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph A. and Sara Wilson Smith; and a nephew, Charles A. Smith.

She is survived by two sons, Jim and wife Cookie Crandall of Florence and Hal and wife Debbie Crandall of Belmont, Miss.; one daughter, Charlotte Rushing and husband Gary of Bear Creek; grandchildren Kim Adams and husband Jim of Spruce Pine, Michelle Wisdom and husband David of Muscle Shoals, Jason Crandall and wife Michelle of Alabaster, Bailey Crandall of Belmont and Shaun Rushing and wife Angie of Bear Creek; great-grandchildren Christopher Browder and wife Hannah, Victoria Browder, Mason Crandall, Hunter Crandall, Rachel Crandall, Decota Wisdom and wife Lacy, John Tyler Rushing and Kayla Rushing; one niece, Marlyn Eckl of Florence; and one nephew, Niles Smith, of Camp Wood, Texas.

A private family memorial will be held following cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity or church of your choice.
