Congrats to baseball teams

The regular season is over for high school baseball, but for fans of three Franklin County teams, there has still been plenty to be excited about.

We want to congratulate the Red Bay Tigers, the Phil Campbell Bobcats and the Russellville Golden Tigers, all of whom made it to the playoffs and have advanced to the second round.

These teams worked hard all season to bring the competition on the diamond, and their performance in Area games gave them what every team strives for: the chance for post-season play, hopefully leading to the opportunity to compete for the state title.

After their victorious first rounds, these teams will each face the second round of the playoffs Friday. It will be a big day for high school baseball in Franklin County.

We commend these teams and their coaches for the commitment they have shown all season to playing their best and representing their schools well.

Behind every great team is a great support system, so we encourage all you Bobcat, Tiger and Golden Tiger fans to get out there Friday and cheer on your team.

There’s nothing quite like the excitement, the anticipation and the adrenaline of the postseason. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of it.
