Horton, Roach to wed Aug. 1

Mr. and Mrs. Tony Horton of Red Bay announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mariah Horton, to Brad Roach, son of Bobby Roach and Raina Robertson of Corinth, Mississippi.

The prospective bride is the granddaughter of David and Peggy Tiffin, the late James “Jim” Horton and the late Shirley Oliver and Mike Oliver, all of Red Bay, and Kaye Horton of Purvis, Mississippi. She is a 2012 graduate of Red Bay High School and graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Alabama in 2016. She earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Belmont University in 2019.

She has worked with both pediatric and geriatric populations and is currently employed as an occupational therapist at Keller Landing and Cypress Cove Center.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Vernell Parks and Frankie Roach. He is a 2013 graduate of Kossuth High School, attended Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2014 and joined the United States Marine Corps in 2015.

In 2018 he deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Mediterranean Sea and completed his active duty service in 2020 at the rank of sergeant.

He is currently employed as a production planner at Northrop Grumman in Iuka, Mississippi.

The couple will exchange vows Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Burns Bluff at High Falls in Albertville. Invitations have been sent.
