Football faces week four
PCHS (3-1) – OPEN
After a big region win over Clements, Phil Campbell will have an off week. The Bobcats will be back in action next week when they host Haleyville.
RBHS (0-2) hosts THS (2-2)
The Red Bay Tigers are coming off an off–week in an unusual position, looking for their first win.
The Tigers are 0-2 with losses to Hamilton 40-24 and Lexington 34-6. They will face the Tharptown Wildcats, who are coming off a tough two-game skid against region opponents, losing to Colbert County 63-7 and Lexington 67-0.
Red Bay won this game this past year 53-0.
RHS (4-0) hosts Lawrence Co. (0-3)
The Golden Tigers are coming off two easy region wins against Mae Jemison 44-10 and Brewer 53-0. Don’t expect this week to be too competitive, either; Lawrence County hasn’t been able to generate much offense so far this year, losing to Hazel Green 40-2, West Point 14-7 and Ardmore 27-7.
Russellville won this game in 2020, 27-18.
The Golden Tigers have dominated this series with a record of 23-5.
VHS (0-3) hosts Waterloo (0-4)
The Vina Red Devils are coming off an off–week, having had to forfeit this past week’s game to Decatur Heritage. They will face the Waterloo Cougars, who are having a rough go of it this year as well.
The Cougars are 0-4 and haven’t scored but 26 points. They lost to Marion County 35-6 – a team that beat Vina 48-0.
The Cougars were shut out by Hubbertville 49-0 and Phillips 12-0, and they lost to Hackleburg 40-20.
Vina leads this series with a record of 27-18.
