RFD annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser nets $2,271 for breast cancer screenings
Through its annual Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirt fundraiser, the Russellville Fire Department collected $2,271 to donate to Russellville Hospital.
“Early detection of breast cancer is the greatest opportunity for successful treatment,” said Russellville Hospital CEO Stephen Proctor. “For more than 10 years, the Russellville Fire Department has increased involvement with their support for breast cancer awareness by partnering with Russellville Hospital in creating the Firemen’s Fund. This money is used to offer free screening mammograms to individuals who are uninsured and have no other resources to provide this screening.”
“Everyone in the Russellville Fire Department looks forward to this fundraiser each year,” said RFD Capt. Randy Seal. “We are grateful for the opportunity to help raise funds for such a good cause.”
The gratitude is reciprocal. “We are extremely thankful for their continued support,” said Proctor, “and we strive to build these types of partnerships to ensure the community has the resources available for the medical care needed.”
