The Red Bay Tigers needed to rebound after a bad loss to Lexington. Locked in a dog fight with Sheffield for much of the game, Red Bay pulled away in the end to get a big win, beating the Bulldogs 50-39.

Red Bay dominated the game on the ground with 348 rushing yards. The ground game for the Tigers was led by Brady Hardin with 25 carries for 246 yards and six touchdowns.

Keeton Lanphear also contributed with three carries for 24 yards.

Holden Inmon had a stellar three kick returns for 127 yards while also getting a kick return touchdown.

The Tigers got on the board first with a 22-yard run by Hardin with 9:49 to go in the first quarter to give Red Bay a 6-0 lead.

Sheffield tied the game 6-6 with 9:08 to go in the second quarter.

Red Bay answered on the ensuing drive when Hardin scored again on a two-yard run with 5:41 to go in the second quarter to take a 12-6 lead.

The Bulldogs took the lead with 3:17 to go in the half, 14-12.

Hardin added a third score on a 5-yard run right before the half to take a 20-14 lead.

Sheffield wasn’t done though, scoring with two seconds left on the clock to tie the game 20-20.

Sheffield took the lead with 8:54 to go in the third quarter 26-20.

On the ensuing drive, Hardin carried the ball into the end zone for his fourth touchdown of the night from eight yards out to tie the game 26-26.

Once again, Sheffield got the lead back with 2:34 to go in the third quarter to make the score 33-26.

Not to be outdone, Holden Inman provided a spark, taking the kickoff to the end zone 75 yards for a touchdown and giving Red Bay a 34-33 lead.

Sheffield counterpunched again, scoring on a big 68-yard pass play to take a 39-34 lead at the start of the fourth quarter.

Red Bay took the lead for good on the first play of the next drive. Hardin broke free for a 53-yard touchdown run to take a 42-39 lead.

With 6:23 to go in the game, Hardin got his sixth and final touchdown on a 6-yard run to put the game out of reach of the Bulldogs, 50-39.

Gage Edgmon threw for 97 yards. Inman caught three passes for 49 yards.

The Tigers will host Hackleburg Friday night for homecoming.
