QUITMAN Services for Elmer Dallas "Shorty" Townsend will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Pachuta Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Meridian. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Townsend, 62, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Meridian and was employed by Horizon Offshore Contractors as a tower operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include five sons, Dallas Townsend of Magee, Darrell Townsend of Cleburne, Texas, Toby Townsend of Enterprise, Keiffer Townsend and Teddy Townsend, both of Causeyville; his parents, Pete and Malene Townsend of Pachuta; two sisters, Bobbie Martin of Jackson and Briggette Singley of Pachuta; three granddaughters, Katie, Kadyn, and Rachel; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Services for Martha Christine Butler Joyner will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jamie Lamoreaux officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Mrs. Joyner, 89, of Meridian, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in Meridian. She was a member of Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha Quam, Donna Moring and Sherry Raines, all of Meridian, Gail Joiner and Judy O'Neil, both of Philadelphia; sons, Samuel Golden of Meridian and Jerry Golden of Collinsville; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Rawson, Dan Silverman, Corey Raines, Dave Nance, Scott Miller and Charlie Miller.
LAKE VILLAGE, Ark. Services for Clora Izola Lott will be held today at 7 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Payne officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Collinsville First Baptist Church Cemetery in Collinsville, Miss., with the Revs. James Snowden and Hal Bates officiating. Bishop Funeral Home in Lake Village is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lott, 82, of Lake Village, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. She was a retired grocery store owner and operator. She was a native of Leachville and she was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lott of Lake Village and Doyle Lott of Caruthersville, Mo.; three daughters, Thelma Whittle of Lake Village, Sarah Benoit of Pensacola, Fla., and Linda Cook of Collinsville, Miss.; two sisters, Elsie Goodman of Osceola and Edna Mitchell of Flint, Mich; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Buster" Lott; her parents, John and Hattie Stratton Waltrip; a son, Jimmy Lott; a grandson, Ronald Cook; and a great-grandson, Terry Alan Keller Jr.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Grover Cleveland Linder will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tony Mienhart, Lester Pope and Levi Griffin. Burial will be in Barrytown Cemetery in Gilbertown.
Mr. Linder, 75, of Gilbertown, died Friday, March 26, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Linder and Perry Linder, both of Gilbertown; three daughters, Wanda Tindle of Gilbertown, Vickie McIlwain of Pennington and Darlene Gibson of Butler; two brothers, Billy Linder of Gilbertown and Larry Linder of Mobile; two sisters, Rachael Lolley of Gilbertown and Tommie Havard of Butler; a devoted friend, Mary Linder; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Ruth Linder, in 1992.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
