Delbert H. Stamphill, age 88, of Red Bay, died September 23, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Mississippi to Charlie and Lila Rena Stamphill and was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the recipient of many medals and ribbons, and was Post Commander of VFW #6112 for 41 years.
He was employed as a maintenance supervisor for the County TB Hospital in Waukegan, Ill. and was formerly a resident of Winthrop Harbor, Ill. before he retired and moved to Red Bay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna Stamphill; son-in-law, Jimmy Moody; and sisters, Mary Sue Warren, Bonell Patterson, and Charlene Higginbottom.
Funeral services were held September 26, 2007 at the Calvary Family Worship Center with Bro. Gene Cooley, Jamie Franks, J.P. Wilemon, Jr., Scotty Young, Bro. Mose Tipton and Turner Paseur officiating the service. Burial was in the Belmont City Cemetery.
Members of the military served as pallbearers for the service.

Ronald J. Brown

Ronald J. Brown, age 88 of Golden, Miss., died September 24, 2007 at Red Bay Hospital. He was born March 25, 1933 in Wisconsin to Peter and Berniece Kingsley Brown. He was a truck driver and a member of the Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles Brown, Richard Brown, and Darrell Brown.
Funeral services were held September 28, 2007 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Uland Pruitt officiating. Burial was in the Allsboro Methodist Church Cemetery in Cherokee.
He was survived by his wife, Virginia Brown of Golden, Miss.; sons, Virgil Brown Durand and wife, Virginia, and Rodney Brown of Osseo, Wi.; daughters, Victoria Hibbard and husband, Terry, of Milwaukee, Wi., and Charlene Velie of Eauclarie, Wi.; brother, Delvin Brown and wife, Dianne, of New Castle, Wy.; sisters, Ardith Kanute and husband, John, of Augusta, Wi., Torlitta Yoder and husband, Wayne, of Glenwood City, Wi., and Jaunitta Shafer of Elkmound, Wi.; grandchildren, Michael Brown, Heather Muszynski, Daniel Muszynski, Taralyn Hibbard, Jessie Brown, Lucus Brow, Strawberry Xiong ant Tasha Love; and fiver great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the service include Marty Allen, Jeff Snider, Tim Shewbart, Jimmy Crane, John Marr and David Chilcoap.

Lucille Duke

Lucille Duke, age 90 of Red Bay, died September 24, 2007 at the Care Center of Red Bay. She was born April 16, 1917 in Franklin County to Icie and Susie Barksdale Belcher. She was a retired school teacher and a member of Atwood Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Guy Duke, and son Dwight Duke.
Graveside services were held September 26, 2007 at the Holly Springs Cemetery with Bro. Charles Holcomb officiating.
She is survived by sister, Gimilla Barker of Red Bay; daughter, Donnie Duke of Red Bay; granddaughter, Jessica Duke of Nashville, Tenn.; and grandson, Jarod Duke of Missouri.
