Belgreen writers represent school well
By Staff
Six Belgreen students participated in the Jacksonville State University Writer's Bowl Tournament last week. The team took home the first place prize in the prose competition and won second place in the overall competition against 57 other schools.
The team worked together to draft a letter guided by prompts and a poem also guided by prompts.
Taking home the second place prize and the first place in prose is quite an accomplishment, especially since it was their first time.
Writing on cue is not an easy task, and the fact that these students were able to do it – and do it so well – says a lot about their skills and the education they are receiving.
Congratulations to the writing team and to the school they represent for a job well done.
We would also like to thank teacher and team sponsor Candi Hester for encouraging these students to compete and preparing them well enough to win.
