Wildcats sweep Mt. Hope

THARPTOWN – Four Tharptown basketball squads picked up victories against the Mount Hope Yellow Jackets Tuesday night.
The junior girls, led by Dovie Ergle's 14 points, used a 10-0 second quarter run to take control against Mount Hope and win 30-20 for the Lady Wildcats (1-2).
The "A" boys team, which captured the Tharptown Tip-Off Tournament title last Saturday, cruised to 44-11 victory.
Jacob Parker led the Wildcats with 20 points.
The varsity girls took a 31-28 game into the final quarter and used an 18-6 run to defeat the Lady Yellow Jackets 49-34.
Chelsea McCluskey and Holly Hines led Tharptown (1-1) with 14 points apiece, and Laken Barnett added 10.
The varsity boys, led by Manny Ricardo's 19 points, rolled to a 79-34 win over Mount Hope.
Trevor Hallmark scored 17 points, while Mackinley Flannagin (12) and Joseph Parker (10) also finished in double figures for the Wildcats.
