Bro. Donald Wayne Herring, age 71, of Russellville, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at his residence. He lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was also a member of Newburg Masonic Lodge No. 388, served in the National Guard for eight years and was retired from Reynolds Metals Company. He taught Sunday school for 18 years, was ordained as a Baptist minister and served for an additional 18 years.
He was a person who loved the Lord, his children and country. He was married to the love of his life, Ann, for 52 years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Jeff Fleming and Bro. Dennis Steward officiating. Burial will follow in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Mr. Herring is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Herring; sons, Jimmy Don Herring, Van W. Herring (Pam), Richard Britt Herring (Michelle); grandchildren, Nate Herring, Tanner Herring, Casey Herring, Amanda Herring, all of Russellville; sisters, Frances Williams of Florence, Mable Rogers of Russellville, Carolyn Epperson of Birmingham, Catherine Jenkins of Florence; brother, Harold Herring of Russellville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers for the service will include Howard Bradford, Johnny Taylor, Ray Grissom, Jimmy Byars, Billy Sparks and Jody Epperson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred N. and Vivian Herring, and brother, Gerald Herring.
Brandon Berry

Brandon O'Neal Berry, age 35, of Belmont, Miss., died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1972 in Florence to Johnny and Alice Page Berry. He worked in construction and was an employee of Belmont Homes for 10 years. He was a Mason and a member of the Red Bay Lodge.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in the Halltown Cemetery in Vina.
Mr. Berry is survived by wife, Jada McKinney Berry of Belmont; parents, Johnny and Alice Berry of Red Bay; sister, Alicia Berry Jenne (Brad) of Tuscaloosa; grandparents, Neal and Esta Lee Page of Red Bay; nephews, Grayson Jenne, Hunter McKinney, Jeffery McKinney, Samuel McKinney, Griffin McKinney, and John-John McKinney; nieces, LaShae Wellington (James), Rachel Mitchell and Rebecca Mitchell; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Esta McKinney of Red Bay; brothers-in-law, Jeff McKinney (Allison), Jerrod McKinney (Donna) and John McKinney (Rebekah); several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Berry.
Pallbearers for the service included Frank Collum, Jon Taylor, Patrick Brooks, Marc Page, Mitch Page, Jonathan McKinney, Lee Berry, Scotty Hardin, James Carpenter, and Jimmy Sims. Honorary pallbearers included Stephen Wren, Eric Bates, Marty Sartain, Phil Bridges, Greg Bridges, Brandon Pendegraph, Allen Howard, Jeff McKinney, Jerrod McKinney, John McKinney, Jeff Massey, and David Deaton.
Francisco Castro

Francisco Alcides Linares Castro, age 24, of Russellville, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008. He was a native of El Salvador, but had lived in Russellville for the past four years having moved here from California.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Russellville with Father James officiating. Burial was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Alejandra Del Carmen Linares; daughter, Nuvia Nia Castro; sisters, Kenia Soto of California, Odaly Linares, Brenda Linares, Angelica Miguel, Sofia Miguel; brother, Andres Jr. Miguel, all of Russellville.
