RHS boys tennis beats Red Bay 7-2

The Russellville boys tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating Red Bay 7-2 Wednesday.
In singles action, Carson Hutchens defeated Toby Gray 9-7, 2-6, 1-0; John-Michael Mayfield beat Chris Funderburk 6-4, 6-1; Jon McAlister defeated John Thigpen 7-5, 6-2; Brett Malone knocked off Kirk Armstrong 6-4, 6-4 and Nathan McAlister beat Justin Roberts 6-2, 6-1 for Russellville.
Roman Lynch earned the only singles win for Red Bay, defeating Brandon King 1-6, 6-4. Lynch won the tiebreaker 1-0.
Russellville won two of three doubles matches as McAlister and McAlister beat Thigpen and Lynch 8-2 while King and Malone topped Funderburk and Roberts 8-0. Gray and Armstrong beat Mayfield and Hutchens 9-8 for Red Bay's only doubles win.
The Tigers are 0-1 this season.
