The MCC Eagle baseball team improved to 2-1 on the season with an 11-10 win over homestanding Okaloosa-Walton Sunday in the Okaloosa tournament. Adam Smith was the winning pitcher for MCC in his first decision of the season. Michael Gipson got the save.

Shirley Gaines is considered one of the top female bowlers in Meridian. She has one of the highest league averages at Dixie Bowl at 195 pins per game.

Gaines' top game of her 18-year career was a 290 bowled early last year. Her highest series is a 767. She credits her success to a committment to travel and bowl.
