The state fire marshal is being called in today to investigate a blaze at Kinard Marine &Sports Center at 8708 Highway 19 North in Collinsville.
Clarence Butler, Lauderdale County fire coordinator, said the first call about the fire was received around midnight Sunday.
By 6 a.m. today, firefighters were still on the scene battling "hot spots."
A witness reported that the business appeared to be a total loss, except for some boats and four-wheelers that were outside of the building.
Propane tanks lined the building, but there were no explosions.
The volunteer fire departments of Collinsville, Suqualena, Martin, Bailey, Pine Springs, South, Long Creek and Duffee responded.
Craig Hitt, president of the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors, said this morning that he appreciated the work of the volunteer fire departments.
This morning's fire was the second one at the business in 18 months.
On Oct. 6, 2000, firefighters responded to a fire at the business that was believed to have been started by a short circuit in the electrical system of one of the boats.
