Paul Nuckolls

By Staff
A self-described country boy from North Carolina, Meridian's Paul Nuckolls was the perfect choice as this year's winner of the Hartley D. Peavey Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. As owner of Specialty Roll Products Inc., Nuckolls quoted Winston Churchill as he accepted his award during The Main Event trade show last week:
Churchill's quote bears repeating here:
Nuckolls was gracious in his acceptance of the Peavey Award, giving credit to our community for giving him the strength and courage to take a risk, create a business and make it successful over the last three decades. It is said that the road to a successful business begins with an idea and someone has to take that first step. After that first step, everyone who launches a business needs help from many quarters.
Paul Nuckolls and his company, Specialty Roll Products Inc., are credits to this community and we congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
We also offer a word of appreciation to the Meridian entrepreneur for whom this award is named: Hartley Peavey, founder of Peavey Electronics. It is good to know that the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship he has demonstrated for years remains a treasured element in our community's quality of life.
