St. Patrick School has received grant awards from the Keep America Beautiful Foundation and Chevron Community Pride.
The Keep America Beautiful Foundation's $200 grant will be used to landscape the west side of the semi-circular drive in front of the school.
Chevron Community Pride awarded a $500 grant for a "Hillside Beautification" project, which involves a combination of soil conservation and landscaping techniques. This project will take place around the hillside walkway which joins the Montessori building with the main school building.
The goal of projects is to enhance the appearance of the school. Work on both projects is expected to begin in May and be completed in six weeks well before the 2002-2003 school year starts Aug. 12.
The Junior Master Gardeners Club of St. Patrick School will coordinate the activities. Interested landscapers, gardeners and friends of the school are invited to participate. Call 482-6044 for details.
