Two Meridian bank-owned properties are at the fingertips of billions of computer users worldwide in one of the area's first online auctions.
An Alabama based company, AMSauctions.com, is conducting the online auction.
The two Meridian foreclosure homes, one at 2701 20th St. and the other at 1127 45th Ave., are already receiving bids from prospective investors from around the U.S.
The list price for both homes is $17,500 and both can be viewed online at AMSauctions.com.
Cindi Conner, of Waltman Realty, said she's received calls from as far away as Oklahoma and Dallas.
The auction on both homes started last week and will end at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The homes are two of three Mississippi homes for sale on the two-year-old auction Web site.
Tony Isbell, president and co-founder of AMS, said the online auctions are "providing convenience to investors and home buyers, and more accessibility to a larger audience."
Since June 2000, AMSauctions.com, in Gadsden, Ala., has held Internet auctions in more than a dozen states including Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee.
