Engineer for Owens Corning
Services for William T. "Bill" Rush Sr. were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Williams and Ron Leonard officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Rush, 72, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at his home. He was an engineer for Owens Corning and a member of Jones Chapel Church of God. Mr. Rush was a wonderful man and "one of us." He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and celebrated his 18th birthday in Guam. After his military service, he returned to Meridian to complete his education. He was a kind, good and honest man. He was loved by and will be missed by all. He never had an unkind word and was a friend to all who knew him. He was also a dedicated and valuable employee who will be missed by his fellow employees. He was also a master woodworker.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Rush of Meridian; a son, William T. Rush Jr. of Meridian; a brother and sister-in-law, James A. and Julia Rush of Meridian; stepchildren, Lisa Brewster, Vicki Adcock and her husband, Scott, Cindy Rogers and Steve Brewster, all of Meridian; and a number of nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Sanford.
The family requests memorials be made to the Jones Chapel Family Life Center Building Fund.
Pallbearers included the Men's Brotherhood of Jones Chapel Church of God.
MARY HELEN MAYERS

Graveside services for Mary Helen Mayers will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Old Brandon Cemetery with the Rev. Lamar Martin officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mayers, 89, of Meridian, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Yazoo City and was a retired dietitian with Kings Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Chatham and her husband, George, of Meridian; a daughter-in-law, Nell Lum Mayers of Collinsville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mayers.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
SARAH ADELLE CRAWFORD

LOUISVILLE Services for Sarah Adelle Crawford will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Tilghman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Crawford, 73, of Louisville, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Winston County Medical Center.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol Whitehead of Louisville, Nina Ruth Smith of Ethelsville, Ala., Nelva Kay Warren of Fort Smith, Ark., and Paula Renee Engels of Newton; three sons, Dorman Edward Crawford II of Enterprise, Dale Evans Crawford of Clarksville, Tenn., and Mark Elrod Crawford of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sisters, Azelle Holloway, also of Tuscaloosa, and Alva Ruth Craven of Dallas, Texas; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Hubert A. Savell will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Revs. Stanley Barnett and Chris Vowell officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Savell, 84, of Philadelphia, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Savell of Philadelphia; two sons, Bobby Harold Savell of Montavello, Ala., and Hubert Wayne Savell of Brandon; six sisters, Mary Lee Mills of Philadelphia, Gerti Mae Harrison of Gadsden, Ala., Lula Mae Baskin of Meridian, and Mildred Freeman, Lorene Dooley and Juanita Davis, all of Collinsville; a brother, James Savell of Chunky; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
