MCC Lady Eagles run by host EMCC

SCOOBA The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles broke open a close game midway through the first half as they defeated East Mississippi 94-62 Monday in junior college basketball action.
Meridian, which improved to 6-2, broke away from a 16-16 tie early with use of its full-court press to take a 55-30 halftime lead.
Tijwana Collins led the Lady Eagles with 17 points while Ashley Thurman had 16 points. Catesha Riley scored all of her 13 points in the first half while Teasha McFarland had 12 points. Angela Bullock also pulled down 14 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
Kim Davis led East Mississippi (2-6) with 16 points while Donna Franklin had 12 points.
