Lauderdale County volunteer firefighters were able to save a mobile home on Highway 19 South that caught fire late Wednesday night.
Butler said firefighters were called to the 1300 block of Highway 19 South at about 11:30 p.m. When firefighters from Vimville, Russell and Long Creek volunteer fire departments arrived, the fire was still contained to a storage room.
Firefighters were able to restrict the fire to the one room, although the fire did burn a hole through the mobile home's exterior wall, he said.
Butler said he was not sure who owns the mobile home, which suffered only minor damage.
While he was unable to determine the cause of the fire, Butler said it was probably caused by an electrical short.
