Mr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph Hart announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Marie, to David Mandeville Morris, son of Judy Kell Morris of Jackson and Dr. Charles Howard Morris of Omaha, Neb.
The wedding will be in Jackson on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. at The Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles McCall Lovitt of Jackson and the late Charles McCall Lovitt of Pachuta, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Thomas Hart of Jackson, formerly of Meridian.
Miss Hart is an honors graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and a cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with both bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting.
While at MSU, she was treasurer of Delta Gamma sorority and a member of Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi and listed in "Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges." She is a member of the Debutante Club of Mississippi and is associated with Arthur Andersen LLP.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Mandeville Kell of Tallulah, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bernard Morris of Shreveport, La.
Mr. Morris is a graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and attended Millsaps College, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in information systems.
While at MSU, he was a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. He is associated with Alltel Information Systems in Little Rock, Ark.
POLK, KENNEDY
Mr. and Mrs. John S. Scianna Sr. of Picayune and Mr. and Mrs. Michael W. Polk of Laurel, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly Suzanne Polk of Meridian, to Robert Bradford Kennedy of Meridian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kennedy of Quitman.
Wedding vows will be exchange at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Meridian.
Miss Polk is the granddaughter of Ferne Gaddis of Picayune and the late Allan Paul English; Ayeleen Polk of Hattiesburg and the late Earl E. Polk.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and Mississippi State University. While attending MSU, she was a member of Chi Omega sorority, an Alumni Delegate and a MSU Roadrunner.
She is employed by Meridian Public School District as a second grade teacher at Poplar Springs Elementary.
Mr. Kennedy is the grandson of Annette Hutto of Quitman and the late Craig Hutto; Mary Kennedy of Quitman and the late Bernice Kennedy.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Quitman High School and the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. While attending the University of Mississippi, he was an Ole Miss Ambassador, a member of the Chancellor's Leadership Class and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
He is a physical therapist with Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
A reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
