PHILADELPHIA Services for Mable Russell were held Saturday at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Renee Young officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery.
Mrs. Russell, 82, of Edwards, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Loyce Friend; three sons, Royce Friend, Gerald Friend and Preston Friend; two sisters, Cassie Jumper and Geebee Cashinham; and a brother, Al Cashinham.
ALEX FORTNER TAYLOR

QUITMAN Graveside services for Alex Fortner "Tip" Taylor were held Monday at King Cemetery in Clarke County with the Rev. Gene Pickern officiating. Wright's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Taylor, 69, of Quitman, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Taylor of Quitman; two sons, Alex F. Taylor Jr. of Quitman and Keith Lawrence Taylor of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Evelyn Marjorie Hopkins and Jewel Kay Wilder, both of Quitman; three sisters, Alice Evans and Billie McDonald, both of Quitman, and Tina Dempsey of Kentucky; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Gideon's or the American Cancer Society.

QUITMAN Services for Annelle "Pat" Kirkpatrick Early were to be held today at 10 a.m. at First Methodist Church with the Revs. Mitchell McDonald and Russell Luquire officiating. Burial was to be in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Wright's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Early, 83, of Quitman, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Bobby Early and his wife, Linda, of Shubuta; a daughter, Carol Ann Norsworthy and her husband, Joe, of Quitman; a sister, Dorothy Bakewell of Sunny Vale, Calif.; three grandchildren, Joey and Lisa Norsworthy, Joy and Kevin Green and Robby and Dawn Early; six great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mary Kathryn Green, Paul and Abby Norsworthy and Zachary and Kayla Early.

Services for Carol A. Venus will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Tilghman officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Marissa Cemetery in Marissa, Ill.
Mrs. Venus, 58, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Riley Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Venus and his wife, Dianna, of Waterloo, Ill. and Larry Venus and his wife, Tamiko, of Okinawa, Japan; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Venus.
Visitation will today beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Page, 67, of Quitman, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Gilda T. Page of Quitman; a son, Barry Page of Nashville; a stepson, Steve Whaley and his wife, Pam, of Quitman; five grandchildren, Ethan Page of Nashville, Brian Whaley of Baton Rouge, La., Patrick Whaley of Hattiesburg, Rachael Whaley and Sarah Whaley, both of Quitman; three aunts, Anna Hoover of Ponchatoula, La., Josephine Grimes of St. Joseph, Mo., and Marilyn Freeman of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and "Tiny" Page.
Pallbearers will be Brian Whaley, Mike Williams, Joe Edwards, Patrick Whaley, Phillip Williams and Oliver Hopkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Moore, Woodie Abraham, Glenn Brown, Michael Corrigan, Linford Conard and Fred Haygood.
The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Quitman or H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Buckalew, 83, of Marion, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Benchmark Health Care. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Irene Beckman, Carolyn Vick and Betty Gibson, a son, Danny Buckalew, all of Meridian; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Dawson.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mrs. Poe, 97, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Hamilton of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. "Boe" Poe and a son, Hunter Poe.

Mrs. Parker, 85, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus.
Survivors include her husband, Rex Parker of Brooksville; two daughters, Dorothy Parker Holmes of Birmingham, Ala. and Lynn Parker Black of Houston, Texas; two sons, J. Rex Parker of Tupelo and Bill J. Parker of Brooksville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Roena Cannon.
