Friday deadline for Peavey Award nominations

Friday is the deadline for submitting nominations for the "Hartley D. Peavey Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence."
The award will be presented at the Main Event Business and Industry Expo, which is scheduled April 26. Nomination forms are available at the offices of the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, located at Union Station on Front Street.
The winner will be judged on success as an entrepreneur and service to the community.
The award presentation will be made at 9:30 a.m. on the day of the Main Event, and will kick off the activities. Last year's winner was E.M. "Hoot" Gipson.
The Main Event will feature a variety of booths, including media, banks, cellular phone companies, hospitals, construction work and local and area businesses. The theme of this year's Main Event will be "The Arts."
