Services for Myrtle Snowden Scarbrough will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ediar Ivey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mrs. Scarbrough, 76, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Meridian. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ivey will miss her precious, darling sister very much.
Survivors include three brothers, William "Buddy" Snowden and his wife, Faye, of Enterprise, John Snowden and his wife, Margaret, and Jimmie Snowden and his wife, Mary, all of Meridian; three daughters, Carolyn Lancaster Odon and her husband, Tony, of Mobile, Ala., Patricia Scarbrough Walters of Meridian and Judy Lynn Blackmon and her husband, James, of Meridian; a sister, Helen Ivey and her husband, Edjar, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Essie Snowden and her husband, Joseph Arvon Scarbrough.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

PHILADELPHIA Services for Hazel Cooper Bassett will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. James Shull officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Bassett, 92, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Philadelphia. She was a retired nurse.
Survivors include a daughter, Dwight Bassett Shelton of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Frank Bassett of Philadelphia, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, French Camp Academy, Palmer Home or a favorite charity.
Visitation will be today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
PERVIS L. STENNIS
Services for Pervis L. Stennis will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie B. Cryer officiating. Burial will be in Daleville Cemetery.
Mr. Stennis, 72, of Forest Park, Ill., died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Forest Park.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Gregory Stennis of Meridian; five daughters, Barbara L. Stennis and Gwendolyn J. Stennis, both of New York City, Jennifer Stennis Sheilds, Felcia Stennis Tuggle and her husband, Ronald, of Memphis and Sherika Stennis of Chicago; a brother, Calvin R. Stennis Jr.; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services for Ollie D. Pope will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Quitman with the Rev. Danny Chisholm officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pope, 90, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Queen City Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mae Jewel Sanders and her husband, Bill, Barbara Keely and her husband, Sam, and Ellen Shirley and her husband, Wade, a son, Jerry Pope and his wife, Amy, all of Meridian; seven grandchildren, Becky Pierce, Alan Sanders, Randy Keely, Lisa Noe, Kimberly Shirley, Robin Crouch and Tyler Pope; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zack Pope and a son, Thomas Wade Pope.

Services for Anna Kate Pittman Rasberry will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Keith Grubbs and John Newbaker officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Rasberry, 81, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and a teacher for 40 years. Mrs. Rasberry served as past state president and was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Scottish Dames and Library Board.
Survivors include her husband, George Rasberry of Meridian; a daughter, Saundra Kay Lockwood of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Roy Y. Rollin and a sister, Edna J. Moulds, both of Ft. Worth, Texas; two grandsons, James F. Lockwood Jr. and his wife, Lori, of Olympia, Wash., and Eric Christopher Lockwood and his wife, Laura, of Georgetown, Texas; a great-grandson, Phillip Graydon Lockwood; two stepdaughters, Lisa Creel and her husband, Ricky, of Meridian and Charlotte Creekmore and her husband, Erman "Pete," of Columbus; three step-grandchildren, David Creel, Johnathan Creekmore and Erin Creekmore.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. Harvey Pittman.
Pallbearers will be James F. Lockwood Jr., Eric Christopher Lockwood, David Wayne Rollin, Pete Creekmore, Bill Mayfield, Don Pittman and Jimmy Shephard.

Services for the Rev. John A. Butler will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Kemper Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Latimer Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Butler, 85, of Meridian, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He was an assistant pastor for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Mae Butler; his children, John E. Butler of San Antonio, Willard W. Butler of Tamola, Bryant Ray Butler of Meridian, Debra Butler-Washington of Phoenix, Lacey Marie Clayborn and Glen A. Butler, both of New Orleans; two sisters, Ida Clayton and Melinda Bell, both of Meridian; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; seven sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and several other relatives.
Visitation will be today from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kelly, 102, of Cincinnati, formerly of Toomsuba, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
Survivors include a son, Robert Kelly and his wife, Lorine, of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Dorothy Darden of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Infant Thompson, seven weeks old, of Meridian, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in Meridian.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Thompson, of Meridian; her father, Billy Thompson of Meridian; three sisters, Heather Thompson and Christin Smith, both of Union and Kayla Smith of Meridian; one brother, Billy Joe Thompson of Meridian; Paternal grandparents, Billy Torrence Thompson of Union, and Allen and Wanda Faye Crapps of Morton; Maternal grandparents, Martha Diane Morrison of Meridian.
